You must have heard about the NOOKcolor, it gives you the ultimate reading experience. Natively it runs Android 2.1 but now it has been running the Google OS. Version of the ported OS is the Android 2.2.1.
It seems that NOOKcolor has been hacked to run Android 2.2.1. Previously NOOKcolor e-reader was hacked to run some third party apps. As the e-book reader natively runs Android 2.1 so it would be a huge risk for the users to run Android 2.2.1 on their ebook reader.
Some of the nerdy and tech savvy guys managed to hack the NOOKcolor ereader and run Android
2.2.1. They did it because the device is now offering some standard Android elements such as the Home Screen (program launcher) and a phone icon.
What if you don’t know about the specs of the NOOKcolor e-reader. Well, the e-reader offers an 800MHz processor along with the 512MB of RAM. It has also a 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen. The cost of this Android tablet is $250, which is quite affordable.
