After the successful hack of iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, Android is now ported to Nokia phones. Most of the folks out there love Nokia but they are not in love with the OS. What if you get Android OS on your Nokia handset? Yes, you would get excited this is what the hackers have done for you. Well, not actually a hack, but this is a small project named as NITDroid, developers are now able to develop an Android OS for Nokia handsets. Most of the Nokia fans do complain that its hardware is awesome but same doesn’t goes with the software, its software is buggy, have glitches and runs slowly. We all know that fact that Android is much much better than Windows Mobile and other mobile OS, so by considering this fact Android 1.6 ‘Donut’ can now run on Nokia 810, just to give you a greater experience.

Developers have also managed to develop a compatible and stable version of Android 2.2 Froyo for Nokia N900, what does it mean? It means Nokia N900 is hacked to run Android 2.2 Froyo instead of Maemo OS. The ported OS on Nokia N900 can now receive calls, data and Google apps. Camera is still missing.

Not to forget! Nokia devices are not first to get Android support, we saw that Windows Mobile devices also got Android support. For now NITDroid project is a great success. Nokia N770, N800, N810, and N900 are also hacked to run Android OS.

Android is running fine on Nokia N810 every thing is very stable and smooth. There is a little problem with Nokia N900 that the camera feature is missing. Developers believes that if Nokia phones are hacked then any smartphone can be hacked to run Android OS.
