The Archos 5 Internet Tablet is Google’s first Android powered tablet from Archos. Android 1.6 is the default operating system for the Archo 5 Internet tablet when it is shipped, On the other hand Maemo is an advanced Linux-based operating system that is active on all the Nokia smartphones.

The best mobile operating system battle is always on whether it’s about Google Android, Apple iPhone or Maemo, the competition is never ending and hackers are always into opening the gateways to access multiple OS features. Many of the OS are being hacked up til now.

Similarly here is another hot news regarding the same topic, whether one calls it a massy hacking or a clever alternative, some group of hackers yet again have efficiently managed to run Maemo on Archos 5.

This means all those applications that actually runs on Linux can be active in Archos 5 side by side, in a way making it some how a dual boot system. You can enjoy the Mozilla-based web browser from Maemo in Archos 5 with the range of many other exciting applications.

Though some applications still needs to be accessed as the Wifi will not be working so it will be useless to just open the web browser and stare it. But still this sounds to be a good initiative, and enhancements will surely be updating in this story.
