Windows Phone 7 natively doesn’t have a support for the NES platform, but Matt Bettcher has managed to port an open source emulator to the new Windows Phone 7. According to him, the code for the port is not yet optimized, as it runs only 20 frames per second. He tried this hack on the Samsung Focus and 20 frames per second is not that bad.

Microsoft would not allow him to put his efforts to the Marketplace, but he is trying hard to convince the Windows Phone 7 owners and the OS community. Just make a note and for your very keen information, Apple does allow emulators on their Apps store but why Microsoft is opposing it?

The hacker will definitely release an app for the Marketplace as soon as the Microsoft would allow him to do so. His app will be a free one with open source code. I am in support of Matt Bettcher, are you supporting him? Then visit his YouTube Channel.
