Malware is a software designed to disturb a computer system’s performance without informing the owner. This term is usually used by computer professionals to address a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software.

By considering the above fact, a recent security report suggests that the number of Web pages infected with malware almost doubled in the last quarter.
More than 560,000 Web sites and and approximate of 5.5 million pages were infected with malware in 2009′s last three months.
In those three months, sites like Fox Sports, Gizmodo and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Mich., were the major websites exploited to deliver malware to the visitors. Microsoft security report identified about 3 million infected pages during the last quarter of 2008.
Dasient co-founder Neil Daswani said:
Web-based malware is working for attackers, and (they) have doubled their investment in these infection techniques,
After the malware was removed, four out of every 10 Web sites were reinfected in the fourth quarter.
