Plenty of Cyber attack news are been captured in the media now a days, (at Worst Tech we also covered US Cyber Attacks, China’s Cyber Attacks on US, and much more), these attacks are massive misuse of computers programs and internet, hackers creates anonymous nature of activities to be used as an attack, just like interrupt communications, flow or theft of information in the world of IT. The first smart phone malware attack was found in 2004 in Nokia smart phone. After that the Security experts declared some 600 cases as infected by then globally.

Smartphone-Malware-attacks

The July 2009 cyber attacks, which spread a wave up with series of cyber attacks in South Korea and United States. In which DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service), was the most malicious attack which targeted major public and private sector websites by increasing the load over the web server hence making a computer resource unavailable to its intended users for a long time.

Now TredDial is the first case discovered by the Korea Communications Commissions. It is a malware attack focusing smart phone’s in form of a code, by which hackers establishes a connection to access in users smart phone without prior knowledge to the user and successfully manages to make international calls.

The first attempt of TredDial was noticed in Britain that gets functional on the smart phone using Windows Mobile operating system.

155 infected smart phone cases were found when research was conducted by the state-run Korea Internet and Security Agency which clearly depicted the calls being made outside the country’s boundaries.

An interesting fact in this attack is, your money is not deducted, i.e. charges are not billed up but when another person wishes to contact you he will be responded with a busy line or in blocked (flight) mode.

The commission also stated that this attack might have caused by downloading different applications like game applications, video converters or Codec Pack.

The government will be forming up a joint task force with the private sector to monitor the malicious activities. A serviceman at the state-run Web security agency uttered the organization being working with domestic telecom operators to develop software which will prevent smart phone applications from being uploaded to the App Store.
