It has been a long time since a phishing attack hit Yahoo! I think its been eight month when Yahoo was attacked by phishing attack, there was another sad incident when Yahoo! was hacked in China. Just Today I got a news that a new phishing campaign is targeting Yahoo! This campaign includes the phishing emails disguised as official Yahoo notifications.

Hackers are trying to trick users by sending fake kind of emails. Phishers are sending emails entitled as “The Yahoo! Mail Team” and subject line of these emails is “Update Your Account!!!”.
In the email spammers sends the content as: Yahoo! is closing some of its accounts including the free and premiums ones due to some security reasons. The only reason of doing this is to restrict the spammers, as they can steal user’s credentials like Yahoo! ID, email address, password, country and birth date.
When the user receives the email, it looks like real and authentic. As soon as the the user fills out the given form, all of their information is being sent to spammers. Who then use this information for hacking, spamming and scamming purposes. Actually Yahoo! doesn’t want any of the information from users.
We recommend you that please don’t open any email from unknown users, enable email filter for your emails. Install a good antivirus software if you are a Windows-based user. Scan any external device before opening it or using it. Be safe be happy!
