Just after we reported about the Yahoo! Phishing attack, there is another sad news for the Twitter users. We just got a news that Twitter users are under another phishing attack, this attack is spreading via Direct Messages. The text of the Direct Messages can be read as:
![]()
As you open the given link, you are redirected to some malicious webpage, which is hosted on an external domain. This domain looks like a Twitter page, which actually is a fake page to steal user’s credentials. As you pitch in your username and password on that page, you will get an error as if you have entered wrong username and password. This information of the users is then used by the hackers to use it in spamming and hacking other user’s information.
This hacker attack is another worm spreading on Twitter, just to trap innocent users. You guys are advised to see the address in the address bar before entering your username and password. If the web address in the address bar is something else than Twitter.com then avoid. Close that tab, clear your browsing history. More often use the SSL-protected version of Twitter.
