HTC Hero was announced in June 2009, it is also known as as T-Mobile G2 Touch and is the third phone manufactured by the HTC for the Android platform. The Android 2.1 version update is not yet officially released for the HTC, but ROMS are introduced freely on internet, you can install them and enjoy unofficial Android update.

A person named as “Kendon” at the VillainROM forums has released a program which makes your T-Mobile operate in a dual mode manner but with the consequences.

However the ROMS might be buggy and may cause your phone to operate awkwardly. Among the most critical that might happen is the consumer might  need to flash out the fill  rom. But different ways are been introduced that allow running of two Android versions on 1 phone.

This is an efficiently hacked solution that on the other hand seems to be providing an alternative to give consumers an option to switch in between until the official update gets released from Sprint.

By this release it is also obvious that you can not only boot between 1.5 and 2.1 but other versions of the Android OS as well. So the limitation is not imposed.
