It seems that apple is not showing any interest in adding Adobe Flash support to any of its iOS devices, but it doesn’t mean there is no way to hack iDevices to add adobe flash support, A day before yesterday I shared an article regarding the things you can do with jailbroken iPads in which a comprehensive guide for jailbreaking was compiled for people who are looking for jailbreaking tutorials and I also told you what fun you can have with your jailbroken idevices; In this article I am going to tell you about  hack which enables you adding Adobe flash support on your jailbroken iPad and will soon also be available for other iDevices like iphone and ipod etc.

adobe flash support for ipad
A well known developer “Comex” has created an application named as “Frash” which uses port of Android phones Adobe’s Flash runtime, Comex’s recently created “Frash,” which can be runs within mobile’s web browser of any jailbroken iPads i.e. within Safari browser. Although the Frash project isn’t fully completed yet and at the moment current version is missing video support and input via keyboard support, but this useful piece of software does what it is meant to do by giving ability to run Flash on Apple iOS devices, thus giving apple users yet another reason to jailbreak their idevices.
Below is the video which Frash is shown in action and the thing to be noticed is that the Frash is surprisingly very smooth; Thanks to comex for his awesome developing skills, the software smoothly handle games and flash objects from many sites like Newgrounds.com. Technically, a multi-process model is used by Frash similar to the one in Chrome Web browser by Goolge, so what happens is that when (let say) one instance of Flash got crashed, then the browser or any other window where flash is being used will still be able to operate as normally.

From the information within the Frash demonstrations videos it has been clear that Adding video support to Frash will not be a easy task as it definitely requires major overhauling, reverse engineering have to be implemented to decode the framework of idevices like ipad and iphone but once it get completed then jailbroken idevice users will be able to watch videos on the internet which requires adobe flash to stream.

Another problem that comex will have to face is the integration of keyboard and mouse because most of the flash based content on the internet is designed keeping in mind the use of keyboard and mouse, so in the current version of Frash since it is missing the keyboard support so there will be lots of flash content that Frash wont ne able to support completely but comex will be adding the keyboard feature into its Frash but adding keyboard support to Adobe Flash while running on touch screen platform will definitely  going to take a lot of hard work  from developer prospective .

But at the moment idevice users having Jailbroken iPhone / iPad can enjoy much more than non-jailbroken idevice ower! And with a little bit of technical knowledge you can also try Frash on your jailbroken iPad by simply following the installation guideline on Github.

Support of Frash for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are also on their way, and will be available within gew days but disappointment for earlier iOS devices because those devices are not powerful enough to run flash content so these devices might not be supported by any of the Frash releases.
