Well the story begins when it was fourth month on current year when it was rumored that Greenpois0n will jailbreak iPad and other iDevices of course. At parallel we also got rumors of Limera1n jailbreak, which was supposed to come before Greenpois0n. Both these jailbreak software claimed to jailbreak iDevices running iOS 4.0 and lower firmware.
Mean while we also heard about some fake jailbreak software like Goldra1n, Oilra1n and Greenpois0n scam. I am not going into the details of the fake jailbreaks.
Lets come back to the point, I will discuss both Limera1n and Greenpois0n one by one. First comes the Limera1n, well Limera1n is supposed to be the property of Geohot. He got the jailbreak exploit from @comex who is an active member of iPhone Dev Team.
Geohot was suppose to make the jailbreak all alone but it wasn’t the case. Instead he ditched the world of hacking and went away for almost two months.
Geohot came back to the world of hacking a week ago as soon as he returned to the world of jailbreaking he released Limera1n ahead of Greenpois0n. What was the main reason of doing this? Is still unknown. But we can analyze why Geohot ditched Chronic Dev Team. Greenpois0n is being developed by Chronic Dev Team, guys there in Chronic Dev Team used the same exploit that Geohot did.
Both Geohot and Chronic Dev Team haven’t released any jailbreak for Mac users, what does this mean? Both are same? Both are just playing around with iPhone fans just to get their place in the world of jailbreaking iDevices? There are many straight forward questions like these.
