In protest to the anti-piracy US laws, a lot of popular websites including Wikipedia have planned to stop serving the site for 24 hours. Hoping that the normal users may get to know, and they fight for their right in providing information for free.
Accessing Wikipedia from your machine will now be displaying a blackout screen containing some statements. From development point of view I will not say this as a redirection to another page, perhaps it is an overlay that has been placed on the home page leaving the home page in background as invisible. If you wish to browse your free encyclopedia site you can pass by this overlay following simple steps below. (PS the site continue offering its services on iPhone, Android and iPad).
For Safari, Chrome, Firefox click on the stop button in the address bar, or pressing escape key from the keyboard before the page completely loads up, bypasses the overlay. If doing so is not resulting correct then try to do it quickly or it also depends on how fast is your internet speed.
Another quick way to bypass can be achieved by disabling the javascript of your web browser.

On Chrome or Safari, just put this code in your address bar:

On Firefox, just do: “Tools” -> “Web developer” -> “Web Console” (or do Ctrl + Shift + K). Put this code inside:

For IE: Disable Style wifht “Display” -> “Style” -> “Disable style” or “Any Style” or something like this.
