Human beings have been on this planet since well before written history. Ever since the beginning of our time we have been stripping what our planet provides. In fact in the last fifty years alone we have stripped half of what Earth has provided. New reports have been recently published reveals the worst side of all these technological advancement; it stats that how fast we are using our planet’s resources, and how fast our population is growing we will need a second Earth by the year 2030. We are taking a lot more from earth as compared to what we are returning it back!
A report published by Living Planet Report states that one of the darker aspect of technological advancements, we are using Earth’s resources way too fast and before she can create more, which obviously all of us realize is surely not beneficial for any of us. So essentially we are eating ourselves to death and impending doom and disaster. It also states that the wildlife that inhabited the more tropical climates have had many drops in their animal population, some have been as dramatic as sixty percent. So basically we are responsible for killing this planet.
Another report has been published by the Zoological Society of London, and also by the Global Footprint Network. This report states that even the healthy British population is consuming way too much energy and resources. They have warned in the report that if we continue to live this way we will need 2.75 planet Earth’s just to survive.
We need to change our ways of life, plain and simple. There is nothing more that any of us can do. Technological advancements can also be achieved by greener and more environmental friendly ways of producing/consuming energy because If we continue to use earth’s resources way to fast and continue to live the way we are living at the moment our grandkids wouldn’t be able to see a happy future. (could be worse i.e. if they even get to see the future at all).
