I have been working on SAP Netweaver platform for about an year or so believe me or not I never thought about the worst enemies of SAP. Before today I thought that SAP is only giving tough time to Oracle only but things are vice versa i.e the things are other way round.
7 worst possible enemies for the SAP AG that I have just came to know are:
- Oracle
- IBM
- salesforce
- Microsoft
- sas
- Customers
- sage
Now let have a brief look at all the 7 worst enemies of SAP and discuss why above listed rivals are in the worst enemies list for SAP.
- Oracle: Well, Oracle is SAP’s worst enemy because in the recent past Oracle has acquired many companies and sued SAP to pay $1.3 billion to their worst possible enemy.
- IBM: German giant has another worst possible enemy and the name is IBM. IBM is just another threat to SAP.
- salesforce.com: Then comes the name of salesforce .com, the software company from Germany has been able to stop salesforce.com by launching a CRM solution but still it is giving a tough time to SAP.
- Microsoft: Microsoft is also giving a challenging time to SAP by adopting the SaaS CRM models. After the acquisition Microsoft can snatch some market share from SAP plus Microsoft Dynamcis is also pressurizing SAP to come up with the rivalry solution.
- SAS: SAS is also giving a tough time to SAP with a working solution in 92 companies out of 100.
- Customers: You would be surprised to know that customers are also the worst enemies of SAP. As some of the customers filed a lawsuit against the German giant when some of the SAP deployments didn’t succeed. So, SAP has to be very sure that customers are also their worst enemies.
- Sage: Sage is challenging SAP in the market of ERP by providing cheaper solution for those who can’t afford to implement German software’s ERP.
