Well guys, what do you know about a computer virus. A computer virus can be defined as a self-replicating computer program which is specifically written to alter the way a computer operates, without any permission of the victim.

Today, I am going to discuss about the history of the computer virus. There is a lot of confusion about the creation of the first computer virus. According to my knowledge the first PC virus was a boot sector virus called (c)Brain, created in 1986 by two Pakistani brothers named as Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi, Pakistan Replica Watches.

The brothers created the virus to make the pirated copies of software they had written. Am talking about those days when networks were not so famous.

Before computer networks became popular, most viruses spread via removable media like floppy disks. Why I am considering floppy disks, because many users used to exchange information on floppies. Viruses spread by infecting programs stored on these disks.

Computer viruses came into being in the 1980s, and spread via PCs. At that time the software sharing became more common.

Macro viruses became common since mid of 90′s. Most of these viruses were written in the scripting languages and the main target was the Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.

These viruses infected Microsoft Office documents and spreadsheets initially. Since Word and Excel were also available for Mac OS, most of these viruses were able to spread on Mac computers as well.

A virus may send a web address link as an instant message to all the contacts on an infected machine If the recipient, thinking the link is from a friend and follows the link to the website, the virus hosted at the site may be able to infect this new computer and continue propagating.

To learn more about the history of computer viruses and how to combat them, many students will pursue a business analyst degree to help protect companies from harmful viruses.

Up till now I only discussed the computer virus, but there are other viruses spreading on social networks as well. Now the main focus of the virus makers is to target users through social networks, in this regard popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter are the main and the only target.
