If you are one the internet surfers who prefer surfing web using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome then you might also have seen the red and white colored warning signs and messages that appears whenever a user visits potentially dangerous website but now scammers are using such messages in convincing unaware users to download spreading rogue/fake anti-viruses.

According to a reasercher named Mikko Hypponen working in F-Secure said that these fake signs are so well designed that it seem authentic to an average computer user. On Mozilla Firefox, the fake warning page says “Reported Attack Page!” and on Google Chrome it is stated as “Visiting this site may harm your computer” but their is a difference in these fake pages and the real ones i.e. these fake error pages also includes an option or link to download critical updates. As for chrome it reads as “Please download and install Google Chrome secure updates!” where as on firefox it jus simply writes “Download Updates”.

The so-called security tool is a fake anti virus which is actualy a malware disguised as an anti virus! Many on the people dont know about it so it will be better to warn your family and friends who might unable to detect that the warning is fake and infect their computers by downloading this malware!

After the malware is downloaded into the PC it executes the fake anti-virus scanner, that hijacks the unaware user’s computer. On one hand this malware infect the user computer stealing passwords and other private information and on the other hand it continuously warns the user about viruses (that not even exist) and demand payment to remove these viruses.
