The history of PC virus began 25 years ago when two Pakistanis named as Basit and Amjad Alvi created a first computer virus of its kind, both of them were from the city of Lahore. Brothers created this virus to prevent their medical software from piracy. This virus or malware or botnet was designed to affect DOS-based PCs. The virus was named as Brain virus.

Today, after 25 years later, virus has grown up into many forms like malware, botnet, malicious code and viruses of many kind. Virus is very very common today, one of most popular viruses is the Zeus botnet. Hackers are now selling tool-kits designed to allow less-skilled hackers to launch malware attacks.
